AMATEUR PORN STAR KILLER 2 DATES & POSTERS
April 15, 2008

Shane Ryan’s Amateur Porn Star Killer 2 will be playing midnight shows on Friday and Saturday, April 25 and 26, 2008 at Laemmle Theatres Sunset 5 in West Hollywood.

The controversial sequel (and the new cheapest feature film ever made with a budget of just $20, beating out the original APSK budget of $45) is already making waves and raising eyebrows.

After a well-known actress had a fit about the posters for the original film, Ryan knew he was in for trouble from the start when it came to promoting the sequel. Basically, he was told he was not going to be able to promote it, at least not through the theaters where it’s showing. However, after multiple requests, one poster was finally approved (last time there were 8 approved).

“I find it hilarious,” says Ryan, “that the poster I myself found the most disturbing, was the only poster out of about 20 that was approved. We have many posters where it’s just the girl and the title, as I thought it was the tagline that was a problem. Then I thought it was the girl’s butt so I was hoping for the poster where it fades and cuts off her rear. But what finally got approved was the one where the girl looked like she had been tortured, and perhaps may even be a corpse.”

“It was well made but it was a first pass, and I had told my friend who made it to have the girl’s body not look so disgusting. Who knew that was going to be the decided ‘least-offensive’ one.”

“I, personally, rather see an image of a girl who looks nice and healthy, but I guess that’s offensive still, to Americans,” says Ryan. “We rather see a beat up girl, or a women being tortured, for some reason that’s more acceptable. I’ve always been baffled since I saw A History of Violence and nobody walked out of the theater when brains exploded. But a married couple having sex, now that had people flying out of their seats like Superman. Most of us have had sex over ripping people’s noses off their faces, so I guess its just reality that scares us [laughs]. Which explains why so-called ‘Reality-TV’ is anything but reality. This just all boils down to what the APSK films are all about; what is it about violence, whether it be through film, media, or real life, that we are so drawn to?”
